Here's what's going on
This error isn't a particularly common one but still causes people problems none the less. The 1023 secondary error code means your Xbox 360 console isn't able to communicate with the ethernet chip on the motherboard. This would almost definitely require you to replace that ethernet chip to fix the error. Due to the southbridge chip handling communication from the ethernet chip, it could be to blame as well. Both might need to be checked and repaired to get the 1023 error to clear. Not many individuals would be able to tackle this kind of repair, this means you would more than likely need to replace your motherboard.
