1013 Xbox 360 secondary error code | Three red rings guide
Operator error
The 1013 secondary error code is a problem most commonly caused by a human being. Most fixes are simply reworking botched mod attempts or flashing. So let's just go ahead and talk about what you need to do!
Start with the simple stuff
The first thing you need to try would be your HDD. Unplug or remove your hard drive and boot the Xbox 360 back up. If the 1013 secondary error code is gone, then your HDD is the issue. Unlike other errors, your hard drive might also be fixable. Your system was not able to locate the main dashboard file. If the hard drive caused your problem, you can re-format the drive and save the HDD. If you don't know how to do so, you can also simply replace the HDD all together. If none of this solved your issue, it's time to check the tougher stuff.
Dealing with the NAND
The NAND will be the culprit of the 1013 secondary code the majority of the time. This also means the NAND would have to be modified or tampered with to cause this error to populate. If you or someone else has attempted to modify the NAND of your Xbox 360, this would be the cause of your 1013 error code. If the NAND has been modified you would need to start from scratch. Rebuild the NAND and then flash it again. If the error happens again you have an issue with how you are performing the process and would need to do further research on your problem.
