0001 Xbox 360 secondary error code | Three red rings guide
Getting answers
The Xbox 360 console has a ton of secondary error codes associated with it and the 0001 code is a tricky one. This code deals with power issues and many times this is caused by human error. So let's dig right in and see what can be done!
The power supply
The first and most common cause of the 0001 secondary error code is the power supply itself. If the power supply is faulty but still supplies power to the console, you will throw the 0001 code. Try using another power supply. If your console works properly with the new power brick, then it needs to be replaced. This 0001 secondary code can also be caused if you are using the incorrect power supply. There are multiple versions that look very similar. Not sure which power brick you have or need? Botched repairs
This error is also common after failed repair attempts. Many times a reflow can blow tiny parts off the CPU/GPU (The rail area). This would also be a cause of the 0001 secondary error code. You would need to look for missing capacitors in those areas. If you never attempted a repair yourself. You may need to compare your motherboard to a matching one to find any missing parts that need to be replaced.
