Product Description

On this page we have a PS1 Slim disc drive, also known as the PSOne, model SCPH-101. Unlike most of what you find out there, this is NOT a cheap clone part. This is a 100% genuine PS1 slim disc drive pulled from an actual PSOne console. In most cases these drives have been rebuilt or refurbished in some way. The most common being the spindle or worm motor systems. However everything here is still OEM and original. This is also tested extensively before I add it to inventory.

READ THIS FIRST!

Commonly this disc drive gets mixed up with a nearly identical one used in the original PS1 fat system. This is because they have nearly identical ribbons, however, this is only for the SLIM (white) version of the console and should not be used on the fat. The model numbers are also easily confused. This is for the SCPH-101 system, not to be confused with the SCPH-1001 system. Lastly the PS1 Slim can have SMD failures on the motherboard that cause a system to not read game discs. This means you could replace your PS1 slim disc drive with this one and still get the same results. You must properly troubleshoot your system to narrow down your issue!
