So... Why IS your original Xbox disc tray stuck?
This is one of the most common issues gamers run into with their original Xbox. To put it simply, you have this issue because Microsoft decided to cheap out on a vital part. Every original Xbox disc tray is opened by a motor that uses a belt to move it back and forth. That belt easily gets dried out, stretched, and unusable after a few years or even months.
So... What can you do?
This might sound like a joke, but your answer is hair bands. Yes, Really, rubber Hair bands. A common hair product you can find at any store can fix your problem. A cheap rubber hair band can usually be purchased for only a few dollars and contains multiple sizes. These work as great replacements because they aren't made of silicone like the originals and will last longer. Take a look below for an example of what these look like. If you aren't comfortable working on a disc drive like that and have no experience working on electronics, your other option would be replacing the disc drive itself with a replacement original Xbox disc drive like one of these.
